Wanona moved from her small hometown in Arizona to the Bay Area in January 2018. Two days after moving to California, she met Lauren. Two months later Lauren and Wanona were engaged, and on June 1st, 2019 they were married. Lauren took on the role of “mom” to Wanona’s two kids, Hailey and Colton the day she met them. She knew she was always meant to be their mom, and on August 30th, 2019 Lauren legally adopted Hailey and Colton. That day they all officially became “The Craig Family.”
Lauren, Wanona, and the kids moved to Sparks in 2020 from Walnut Creek, CA. They were looking to move out of the ever-growing Bay Area to a slower pace of life. Lauren grew up snowboarding in Tahoe and always loved visiting the Reno area. The Craig’s made a weekend trip to Reno in the summer of 2020, and immediately knew it was where they wanted to live. In August 2020, the Craig’s made the move to Sparks. Soon after moving, Hailey noticed a “CrossFit Allure” sign as they were driving down Sparks Blvd. and told her moms “you should go there!” The rest is history…..
Wanona had been doing CrossFit at home since 2015 after watching the CrossFit games on TV. She was hooked immediately, and to this day watches every CrossFit video she can find. Hailey and Colton love watching CrossFit with Wanona and inherited her love for the sport. Lauren is a 4th degree black belt in TaeKwonDo, and a certified Krav Maga instructor. Before retiring from martial arts due to a severe back injury, Lauren ran a mixed martial arts studio and had trained for over 12 years. She had been wanting to find an activity for the kids that would teach them similar focus and discipline, and when CrossFit Allure started offering kids classes she knew it would be perfect for them! Lauren loves having the kids be a part of the amazing CrossFit Kids training program at CrossFit Allure, and Wanona loves having the kids share her passion for CrossFit.
Lauren and Wanona have quite the zoo at home with 2 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 leopard geckos, a snake, a bearded dragon, and a pac-man frog. However, in January 2022 there will be one more addition to the Craig zoo- a baby girl! Lauren is due at the end of January 2022, and all the Craig’s are excited! Lauren will be joining the CrossFit Allure crew after the baby comes, and baby girl Craig will be taking kids CrossFit class in no time!
